Identifying a steel-piston FP
« on: March 07, 2008, 06:38:22 PM »

Hi All,
Does anyone know what to look for to determine whether an older FP.40 (2001 or earlier) has a steel piston, rather than aluminum?

Thanks,

Well, the simplest way to tell is with a small magnet (magnet on a stick??). If the magnet "sticks" to the piston, the piston is steel! On the ABN versions, there is no ferrous material to attract the magnet, so no stick'um.

(Too many irons; not enough fire)
