ID Engine
« on: November 08, 2016, 04:03:32 PM »
Gentlemen,

A friend gave me a basket case engine.
Dirty, piston froze, all the parts were there and he said it was an old Fox 35.

Worked a couple of hours on the engine and it is shaping up.

Although, not sure if it is an Fox 35.  Info about the engine:
   1.  Cylinder bore:  0.800 inch
   2.  Stroke:            0.677 inch
   3.  Head has 4 bolts,
   4.  Back plate has 3 bolts,
   5.  Engine has no markings.

Thanks for the help in Identifying this engine.

I think that is an early version of the three bolt back plate but still had four bolt head. I don't think it's a sand cast engine. If you go over to Stuka Stunt and do a search, I think someone posted pictures one time of the complete line of Fox .35s from the beginning to that point.

Dan,

Thanks, your advice where to look was right on.

This engine is a 1951 FOX Stunt 35.

Yep,
Sandcast Fox 35.
You've got a good one,I just saw one go on Ebay for $ 69.00

All sandcast's have that little divot on the front bypass side mounting lug.
