Fox .35 rebuild ?
« on: January 03, 2010, 02:26:00 PM »
Hi ,

I just rebuilt a Fox .35 Stunt (50th anniversary) .
I used Fox' Ceramic P&L , Smith hemi head , Smith NVA , Smith Hi Zoot crank and a Fox stuffer back plate ...
No head shims and everything , except the back plate is metal to metal fit.
Is there anything else I can do (port blocking, maybe) to finish it off ?

Thanks ,

Rob K.

Hi Lee ,

A "balmy 11" !

Damn heat wave :)

It's a shame my "better half" wouldn't appreciate a test run , in the basement LoL !

Happy New Year !

Hi Rob

Yes the backplate should not be a metel to metal fit, I would use the gasket that was made to use on the backplate
I would also use  1  standard head gasket, try it this way before trying to not use any gaskets

Regards
Randy

Rob, I would insert the transfer port filler.

I was given one NIB by one of our friends who thought I had a deprived childhood since I had never owned one. I consulted with Brian Gardner (Bristunt) who definitely recommended the port filler. I also used the stuffer backplate with Randy's crank and NVA. The engine has been bench run and I'm about to fly it.

Cheers, Geoff
