Enya 61 CXL set up with muffler
« on: June 29, 2023, 06:09:43 PM »
Hoping for a little help.

I have an Enya 61 CXL and a stock Enya muffler.  Getting the two together has proven to be a little challenge.  The show what I've been able to find so far.  The picture shows an OS 46 adapter which is a few thousands to big.

Has anyone used the stock Enya muffler?  Reviews?

Appreciate the help.

Thank you,
Ralph

If you have available can you post your pictures of your engine setup?  Muffler or pipe.
Thank you,
Ralph

Do you want me to turn that down to make it fit?

I might try if I can get a chance.

What I really would like to have is the Enya adapter.

Did you message shtterman on eBay? Sometimes he has stuff that's not listed.

Do you have the header bolts or know the size? Does the OS header tilt up and does the bolt pattern fit the engine perfectly?

I did reach out to Bob, he hasn't had anything for a long time for these engines.

Screws are 3.5mm.

A friend helped me with the OS 46 adapter.  It appears to be the right angle just a hair to big in diameter.

Here is a picture.

If it's 2-3 thou, You could jam it on a tapered wooden dowl and turn it with a drill press while you apply a flat file. Or you could wood screw it to a block of wood and turn it by hand in a V block while filing. If it's 5+ thou, would be allot of work by hand and you might have to work the O-ring groove too.

5 min job on my lathe, you pay postage.

If the O.D. of the OS adapter and the O.D. of the muffler header in the smaller diameter section are close, I would cut off the larger diameter part of the  muffler header and use silicone tube to attach the OS adapter with the muffler.

I had this combo in my hands at one time, and this muffler is not made by Enya, it is the muffler for  the Stalker 40 and I think the exhaust exit diameter is too small for this size engine.

The OS 46VF header will fit with this engine and it will be much better if you can find a tune pipe for it.

Thank you Martin.

I was wondering why this muffler inlet also fit the 32 CXLS pro rear exhaust adapter.

Thank you Martin.

I was wondering why this muffler inlet also fit the 32 CXLS pro rear exhaust adapter.

It was me who gave the idea to Ken Enya to make the muffler adapter to use the Stalker 40 Muffler, but for the 32CXLS and it worked very well.  But they also did the adaptor for the 61CXL for using the same muffler.

I know of at least one person down here that have used this muffler with the 61CXL  but I never saw it working.

I got a Stalker 76 muffler with the idea of adapting with the Enya 61CXL,  but using a tune pipe is so much better and I have not yet spend the time to draw and make one.

If you want I can sell you my Stalker 76 Muffler

Thank you Martin for the offer.  I think I'm going to try the tuned pipe first.
