Enya 45 Differences
« on: August 01, 2023, 07:46:10 PM »
Can someone tell me the difference between the 6001 .45 and the 6002 .45 II? The front case looks a little different as in heavier duty but the crankcases look the same. Thanks.

I have a handful of the 6001's but have stayed away from the 6002.  As I recall in an effort to extract a little more power from the basic design the 6002 has a larger internal crankshaft bore and intake opening for more air/fuel passage.  Timing and compression may also have been changed.  These changes I've read makes the 6002 less user friendly as a stunt engine and the crank itself weaker which could lead to failure.  I recall someone using aluminum tubing to sleeve the crank bore back down in the range of the 6001 to correct the bad traits.

Thanks Dave, looks like the 6002 will be staying on the shelf. I have two 6001's, one with the venturi built into the front housing and the other one with a standard bolt through setup. You can see the difference in the front housing on both engines. Ed.
