My local hobby shop ordered my venturi, part #23312000.  This is for the OS .40 FP, but it will fit the OS .40 LA-S.

Ty,

Yes it will.  Ther are two O.S. venturi that will fit. 23312000, the one you have and 23312100 which has a smaller throat opening.  I use the second number as I prefer the O.S. NVA.  If I used an ST or ST clone needle valve I would consider the 23312000.

You can order one directly from Tower Hobbies  http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0005p?&I=OSMG1440&P=Z  you can also get the needle valve there to.  You might also want to get the venturi for the 20/25 so you have a different size in case you need it http://www2.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin/wti0001p?&I=LXCW99&P=M .

You don't need the small venturi to control a .40LA, so just get the bigger one. It'll be fine. You might want to try a Bruline air filter, tho. Get both fine and course filters.

I have no fondness for the OS needle valve assembly, having used them, ST's, ST Clones, K&B's and Nelson/Randy Aero, in recent history. I'd rate the Nelson/Randy NV setup to be #1 by a bunch.

Mufflers: The stock one works well if you can stand the weight. If not, a Randy Aero, Big Art or Scott Dinger tube muffler would work very well. The lightest and cheapest is the RSM Tongue Muffler, but I prefer a tube muffler for the quietude. You probably will also, and it may help your flying, leaving you more relaxed and able to concentrate better. Just $.02 worth.  y1 Steve
