Coffee Percolator and Antifreeze Works!
« on: February 11, 2015, 05:36:03 AM »
Intrigued by positive comments using an old crockpot and antifreeze, I wanted to try this method, but I lacked a crockpot. Got an old Poly-Perk plastic coffee percolator no longer used. I gave it a shot, lo and behold, it works! Removed the glow grime from my two Enya 09-III CL engines and took the paint and glow grime off my Testors McCoy 35 Red Head, too.

To boot, it doesn't require as much antifreeze to cover the engine parts. After it brings the solution to boil, it goes in warming mode, which IMO about the same as the crockpot's low heat. Took an additional day to soften paint and hardened Castor on the Testors enough to remove, came off with an old toothbrush. I'm stoked!  ;D
