Acetone in ultrasonic cleaner?

     Will acetone work well in an ultrasonic sleaner?

Frank.  Not necessary.  Ultrasonic cleaners work by the vibrations of water molecules on the part immersed.  Normally, water with  soap or detergent is used, mostly used to wash away the loosened particles.   Acetone or paint thinner is just too dangerous. and probably not any better than soap.

You can use acetone in ultrasonic cleaner, but take good precautions because it's stinky and volatile.
I recommed to put the acetone in as small jar as possible, glass or plastic, to house the part you're cleaning and immersing the jar in the US filled with warm water.
But don't expect miracles, in case you want to clean that dried castor you mention in the other thread. It may loosen up but it also may dry the residue to an even harder sediment. L
