After flying/demonstrating a number of 4-Stroke planes at the Brodak Fly-In, quite a few people have asked me about 4-S setups, performance and other characteristics these great powerplants.

These are the planes I brought:
   Cardinette – OS Surpass .26
   ARF Cardinal – OS Non-Surpass .40
   Staggerwing – SAITO .56
   Argus – SAITO .30
   Little Cherokee – SAITO .30
   Euclid – OS Surpass .40

I made most of them available to anyone who wanted to try them, soliciting feedback and suggestions.

The one that saw the most flying was the Cardinal, which was entered in Profile Stunt and made many night flights.

There was not one negative comment from any of the people who flew them.

In any case, for those not aware, I am still maintaining a 4-S information exchange, comprised of approximately 100 enthusiasts.

Anyone interested in being included need only to send me an e-mail address. If it proves of no interest, one just informs me and I remove the name. There is, of course, no cost.

Any information I receive will be sent to ALL subscribers unless I am told otherwise.

Besides 4-S info, I will occasionally forward items of other areas of interest, like human nature, humor or patriotism. Minimal if any politics.

One of these days I need to write up the trials and tribulations I went through with my Saito 40 and 56 to get to the setup I am running now. I think it's a little different than most. Like you, the comments I have heard on how well they run have been awesome. I am totally convinced the Saito 56 will fly anything a ST 60 will fly but better  ;D

I agree TOTALLY!!!!

AND, the ENYA .53 will out-pull the SAITO .56.

To date, I have flown a number of planes that were designed and built for the ST .60 but I used the SAITO .56, ENYA .53 and Surpass .52 instead. According to the original builders, they ALL performed better.
The planes were the Cardinal, the Red Baron and the Polaris.

Bob Dixon switched from a tuned pipe setup to the Surpass .52 and I doubt that he will ever go back.

Remember the bottom line - it's still a matter of preference.

Minimal if any politics.

Must be a new policy...
"The reasonable man adapts himself to his environment. The unreasonable man adapts his environment to himself, therefore all progress is made by unreasonable men."
