Voo-Doo extended Boom Dimensions ?
« on: November 26, 2010, 11:30:09 PM »
I have an original Voo-Doo kit, but I would like to build it with the improved longer booms.

Does anyone have the dimensions, length, for these extended booms?

Is the stab the same as stock, or larger?

TIA for your help.

Back in the late 60's and early 70's ,we made them about 8-10" long ! With fiberglass Aero shafts . Worked great ,turned better and didn't break when they hit the ground ....

When did the long-boom Voodoo show up? I know that Rusty Brown and I modified our Voodoo kits to use it in the 1964-65 time frame, and I was under the impression then that Russ originated the idea.

That was the first improvement to the Voodoo that we made. The second was to add 2" of planking (on top and bottom) behind the leading edge which gave a better airfoil and much better turning.

We called them "Nemadoos"  , I use to build and fly those back in the 70s and 80s

Still have 1 left with an old FOX Combat special on it

The only plane I made extended booms for was the Super Swoop by Sterling.  Made for a plane you could drive.  I did have a Nemisis once until I came up against the Carl Berryman.   H^^
