Way to go Jim!
Demon's are cool. VERY simple and fast construction, stable in the air, yet still turn pretty good when built right and weighted/trimmed correctly.
Back in my younger days, a veteran combat flyer was kind to this enthusiastic young man and helped me learn to build straight airplanes, how to trim them, and how to fly stunts. (Actually, he taught me a LOT of combat-related stuff.) He said to learn to fly a combat plane and two-up, pick a solid design, build 'em by the numbers, and fly that one model until you are an accomplished flyer. He recommended Riley's Demon. I listened and applied, and he kept a regular supply of Flite Line Demon's flowing into his garage hobby shop called "Bill's Hobby Shack". I had a ton of fun that summer and went from barely being able to fly a sloppy loop and equally sloppy wingover... to being able to fly the entire stunt pattern with a Demon (combat plane), as well as being able to fly maneuvers while not looking at it! So much fun that summer.
So, Demon's are special to me. They bring back a TON of good memories.
