I'm sure yours flys great Mike with strong motor they are quite a hand full.My first one with my mk6 was quite a bit faster than expected....120 plus for about ten laps ...three inside loops to slow it down and an vertical 8 , completely exploded in a heap of parts!..this one is built for it hardwood spars, carbon reinforcement, silk etc should really go....the other one turned so hard it completely crushed the ribs and poof it was gone...jim

I built two of them for Nelsons.  I haven't flown them yet.

Howard I'd love to see the results of your Nelson powered flights..mine has to pass the mk6 first before i put a cherished Nelson on it...this one has double stud mounted belcrank, bushed leadouts, carbon pushrod, glassed and carbon mount and center section, all with the Nelson in mind but gotta graduate from mk6 school first...   jim   H^^

Dan...silk adds some real strenght without much of a weight penalty...plus its a great bag of trash when you smack it ;;ha ha jim

Did you put the optional leading edge stiffener in it? I still have one built in the 70's with epoxy that needs to be recovered because the silk/dope is no good after 40 years.

Giff I used hardwood spars, really hard balsa leading edge and some really tough c grain planking plus a little 12k carbon, didnt used the parallel stiffner though...did use vertical carbon tow reinforcement on the ribs also...Jim   :)

I put some shear web between the 1/4" square spars for the Nelson planes.  If you do that, be sure to get any warps out before you close the D section with the shear web.

No doubt Howard I shearwebed a Demon that was a little/lot crooked and it was a total stiff prop when finished..flew like crap but was impressive to the other guy when it would turn wing down through the top of the circle and roll back flat...Jim
