Metal tape

  In the past,  some combat fliers used a metal tape over the leading edge of their wing just behind the exhaust or engine cylinder.  does anyone out there still do that?  I just came by a roll of that type tape and could sell it fairly cheap.  The tape is 3 inches wide and the roll is  about 5.5 inchec OD and 3.25  dia  ID.

The kind I was using was for A/C ducting, very shiny, but the adhesive wasn't very long- lasting around fuel.

  This is very shiney and very malable.  I can't vouch for the longivity of the adhesive.  I would seal the edges anyway.

I used to get mine from the autobody supplies store I used back then ( I was an autobody repair tech before wrecking my back ) it was a sticky backed aluminum tape that was mainly used to cover rust holes in cars and then covered with bondo mainly done to satisfy the not so reputable car sales places.
