Hi Gordan by chance were you at the L.A. Money Nats in 1987? Those trim schemes look very familiar.
Thanks

Dwayne,
Yes,I was there I finished 5th or 6th not sure. My Friend Jim Womach won it with the foam Challenger. All my Challengers were Balsa wood and Mono. I was flying the big one there 502sq. inches. Was you there at that time?

Gordan, of those three photographs, only in the first is your countenance menacing enough for combat.  If I were you, I would Photoshop that face on the other two.

Howard,

I`ll be glad to put your face on my combat plane. That way I`d remember who I was suppost to be chasing. When you get as old as I am it helps to have a picture of the enemy. Ha! HB~>

Hi Gordan
Yes I was there it was my first contest ever, I didn't fly but helped out the Flying Tigers (Barry Baxter, Russ Graves) and it was one of the best times of my life...lol I think you might be the reason I just built a Flite Streak wing combat plane that's what I thought you guys were flying but now I'm not sure all I remember is you guys had the hottest looking ships at the meet and thinking these guys must be nuts putting such nice graphics on their planes just to smash em up...lol Anyway I had a blast and if it was you that influenced my Streak a heart felt thank you the Money Nats is a memory I'll always cherish.
Thanks
Dwayne

Were they ever published?  I remember when we took pride in good finishes for combat planes. H^^

Thomas,
There were only two of us flying them here in Salt Lake City. We did travel to contest during the seventies and eighties. I still have plans for the seventy size Challengers. If you want a set send me you address and I can mail a set to you.

Gordy

We did use the small one for speed limit Combat. And also had one for slow combat,it had the fuse. and stab and Elevator and Rudder on suction but used the big wing but no planking.

Gordan;

Thanks for the offer.  I am now retired from active modeling.  I leave that to my son Steve and granddaughter Ashley.  I offer CD's of the plans and construction articles from the model magazines.

My spare time now is spent at a CAF hangar where we are restoring a PBY-6A catalina.

my wb site is www.cpinternet.com/~tawilk36
