Combat Kits
« on: August 30, 2019, 02:50:38 PM »
What do you think a fair price for a Count Clipper King of Combat Kit and a Diamond Airfoil Kit would be if you were to buy them?

Thank you
Mike

If the kit in good condition, box clean, all parts as new with all in the original diecuts, plans clean, and you find an interested couple of collectors who want one it might go over $100

Back in the day, Harters pans went for $3 and the kits: Royal Rodent and Regal Raider were $7 and $8.
The Raider, designed for 29 proto speed, made a better rat than the Rodent, due to 125 squares vs 80.

The Student Prince and Count Clippers were very bad and unpopular products.

The pans have become a rare and costly find for the builder or collector.  A Harters pan is not something that can be knocked-out by a laser cutter or plastic printer.

The Count Clipper, while cool, has under 300 square inches of thin airfoil and a lot of weight.  The upside would be good top speed with a powerful engine.

Most old combat kits seem to bring $100 or more. The clipper would have been a great rat racer I bet. Had to be a horrible combat plane.

It was.  I saw a guy try one in a contest, once.
