The scores went down from there with a bunch of fliers doing things they shouldn't oughta, if they want to win.  Notice that none of the top five had a midair/crash, linetangle/crash , or flyaway.

WW-II Profile had 7 entries, with 5 flying. Planes ran the gamut from some pretty nice near-scale profiles to combat cleavers.  Paul Smith and Howard Shenton won the "Most Memorable Flight" award for flying a complete match in a downpour.  The rest of the matches were pretty tame with most of the cuts taken in level flight.  Rick Blankenship(Sterling Hellcat) and Phil Cartier(FW-190) had a good match with 1-2 on cuts and quite a bit of maneuvering.

Hey Phil,

Thanks for putting together both combat events at Brodak's!!!!

Great to meet some more combat flyers, and see the "more distant" northeast flyers again.

Please do the WWII combat again next year!

There will be some minor changes, but probably none to the airplane specifications.  Maybe specifically allow the slightly larger planes like the ARF P-40 and a couple of the larger Brodak(and other) kits.  But for safety reasons it would be better to stick with the 48 in. span limit in order to limit the weight of the planes.

A couple folks suggested adding more scale points so someone couldn't run a regular slow combat plane and have much chance of placing.  200pts was suggested.  We also need broader scoring in the scale points.  We only had a 3 pt spread, which I thought was pretty narrow for the planes presented.

The gusty wind really put the kibosh on maneuvering.  More would be good.  Maybe a few points for breaking away or reversing like they do in wrestling.

We're also putting a ban on rain for Friday and Saturday and limiting wind gusts to 10 mph.
