The BOSTA is my vote for the most beautiful fast combat machine ever.  I just finished drawing ACAD plans for it from a set of originals that Peter Martin supplied to me.  Many thanks for that, Pete!

In using the ACAD /"Ellipse" function for the front and back parts of the wing planform came out to within about a 64th of an inch of perfect.  Whoever drew the original plans was a master.  They got the mathematical components of an ellipse just about perfect.
We now have the BOSTA enshrined digitally for all to have.

Yes, I always thought that was one beautiful combat plane.   The one in my picture was built from a hand cut kit from Hawaii.   30 inch span with Fox .15 Schnuerle on suction.   Very fast and touchy on the one flight I have on it.   Have made the control horn taller and plan on using FAI combat handle next flight.   

Yes the full size Bosta would make for a very competitive FAI plane if it wasn't for all the peices in construction.   

Several years ago, I re-drew the original, pre-magazine version of the Bosta plans directly from Neal White's original drawing which was made when he was at  Purdue.  I'll ask Neal if it's OK for me to put them up here for everyone's use.  I also re-drew Howard's magazine version of the Nemesis II plans (there are at LEAST 3 different versions).  I'll ask him too.

Thank you, guys! I've been wanting to build these 2 but could not find a reference for the plans of the Bosta. Had one in the early 70's and loved it. But did not want to build 20 of them as the wing and structure were a lot of work for a combat plane. One of the beautiful designs...

 

I'll see if I can find the original magazine article and re-type it for posting here like I did with the Nemesis II article.  Does anyone happen to know what issue of AAM it was in?  I've got all the back issues.

I THINK someone did that - used the Bosta wing as the basis of a Seafire profile Carrier model.  However it would make a GREAT sport-stunt model...
