I'm thinking of using a Wild Bill Netzeband Equalizer for nostalgia combat. The rules offer bonuses for authentic paint scheme and engine.

Does anybody have access to the 1961 Model Aviation article to verify the engine and trim scheme?

I have a Doc Passen kit in hand, but not the original document.

Is the article in Model Aviation, or some other magazine? I think I have all 1961 Model Aviation, and they did publish some models in it, but this was the old news letter version of Model Aviation and more or less a pamphlet. I have all the other period model mags also, just need to be sure of the title.

Mike Griffin sent me the Equalizer article. Here's a picture. Engine looks like a 1961 Fox Combat Special.

Howard is just ahead of me. I just went through Model Aviation for that year, and through American Modeler and it was in June 1961. Lots of good stuff in AM in 1961!!

Maybe a Fox, but my guess would be a Johnson. Texas & Oklahoma guys favored Johnsons in that era.
