True Don Still Stuka canopie

Guys,
Has anyone built a true "Don Still Stuka" canopy? If so could you give a little description and some pictures of how to build it. I have an old DSS that is ready to be refinished and I wanted to do the real deal canopy.

Hi Dennis,

To build the "plans shown canopy", you use some thin ply formers and a sheet of clear plastic.  The 1952 plans show how it is done.  Don't know which plans you built yours from? ???
(I simply used the molded one............ ;D )

Mine has a pre molded one from the late Bill Sawyer....  So does anyone know what happened to his tooling?

I recall that someone who posts on here bought all Bill's canopy tooling and equipement, but I cannot recall who,, perhaps Bill Little?I really dont remember

I did a quick search and turned up this,, my memory is not as bad as My Girlfriend says it is,, ( at least as far as modeling goes LOL)

Hi Tom,

Like Mark said, I have it all now.  Unfortunately with the cancer treatments, etc., have stopped me from playing with everything and getting the temps, etc., right.  I will have things running by mid Spring, I hope.  There are more bucks than I can remember, plus a few already molded examples.

below is Don Still model  that I snapped with my old Minolta 35 camera with Kodachrome 10 from the mid 60's?

Great line up and truly some beauties for sure. When I see a painted canopy on classic stunter its just wrong. They should award an extra 10 pts. for canopy detail.

I can't see adding more points for a detailed cockpit, but consideration of details is supposed to be considered in appearance. I don't like the painted, no detail, cockpits on any airplane, new or old.

Hey gang -- as soon as I can get a functional work shop together I wanted to jump into the Stll's Stuka squadron -- and produce a canopy form - don't care for that painted look either -- besides Still's original had interior detail - seats -instruments - rear guns -

Right on Randy canopy detail makes plane look alive. It takes some effort but not hard to do. Even simplw clear dyed canopy looks nice. What ever floats your boat.
