Today I got the two classic winter projects out for test flights before hanging them on the wall and getting the 'serious' machines out and start working. The Veco Hurricane flew really well and seems almost over powered at 44 ounces on its McCoy .40. Flew briskly in a four cycle. I could try a flatter prop like 10-5 but may just drop a .35 in. These are the Series .21 engines. The 42 ounce Ruffy should fly well but I'm having some issues with the Merco .35. I came home and trial fit a Fox and Red Head McCoy. Going with the red head. This old Merco is the sleeve bearing silver case and head but having issues finding a good NVA for it. I have a Blackstreak and a couple Merco Red Heads but the parts don't fit. That one will go back on the shelf for now. I got the Red Heads to go in my future Warburton Tony which used that engine. Anyway next trip out I'll try my Sterling Spitfire once again with a new tank and a Mac in place of the original K&B Stallion, then put them up for another year.
