Bill,

This is just a fun project. Should be a blast. Will the plans be available eventually?

Hi Claudio!

You missed the decimal point, huh? ;D

It's 8.2 oz.  (about 249 grams)

if it was 82 oz., I would burn it and quit altogether! LL~

You should have put a fox in your Arctic Fox. By the way how is that plane flying these days? HB~> H^^

Hi Leo,

I don't know how it flies yet, but I will let you know when I get it finished!  :##

Hmmmmmm..... I seem to have forgot to update, sorry!

The wing is finished, just need to hinge the flaps.  Put a standard slider in the wing tip, but prefer the eyelets in the hardwood.  Most everyone would probably like a regular line slider set up, so I went ahead and used it..  I will not have an adj. weight box on mine, but I will include it on the plans.  The removable LG set up took some time since I had not done it in an I-Beam wing before.  Both types of LG will be shown on the plans.

I had to get some custom horns from Tom Morris since I could not find a way to get a slider horn on the elevators with the skinny tail section.  It will have fixed 2-3 ratio and Tom will make the horns available.  Also, no CF or ball joints on the elevator push rod.  Just not enough room.  :(

The stab/ele. is ready for primer.  Put .2 oz. CF veil on the stab, and used nylon taffeta hinges, full span.  Then covered all with silkspan.

Making the top and bottom blocks now.  Still have not ordered the canopy! LOL!!  Will get on the cowl soon.

Guess I need to take and down load some pictures!  ;D

Bill,

>>But you have to love him anyway. ...<<<

Well, I'm sure somebody does.   8)

I was wondering how you were going to get a slider horn in it. I had one in my Bill Simons Shoestring and trust me, the space between the end of the horn and the bottom of the plane is measured in thousandths of an inch. Basically it's just carbon veil with CA to harden it. Can't get any closer and still be in the plane.

Hi Randy,

The horn would have protruded through the bottom about 1/8th".   :'(  I could have made the ball link and all work, but we just went with a regular old 3/32" push rod with a washer soldered on.

How's the Ringmaster Deluxe coming along?   :o  ;D

Bill,

It should be done in a couple of weeks. Just finished covering it with shrink wrap.

Hi Randy,

I saw your post at TBOTR site about the Coverlite.  Do you think it will be worth it?

Bill,

It's not bad stuff. Just takes a bit to get the hang of. Looks pretty cool overall. I'll never be the iron on finisher that someone like Danny Dirt is, but it's will be a (oh, no. Not that) serviceable finish. It's a profile and I mostly want to get it in the air and keep it light. Appearance is sort of secondary here. Just not too ugly.
