I had the pleasure of watching Mo fly the Thor on many occasions. He was a Golden Glove boxer during his competitive CL stunt years, and he had reflexes that were simply amazing; matched only, I think, by Gene Schaffer. He would fly decidedly under 45 degrees and had corners that were among the best ever. The Thor was a match for Mo's flying ability and it turned and locked extremely well. It was light, too. He was a disciple of Harold Price, one of the best at building light models.

I have often thought of building a Thor for Classic competition. It's a great choice; go for it!

Bill,
What Bob said. Moses is also a great guy. Don't let the boxing fool you, while I would not suggest picking a fight with him, Mo really has a soft heart.

I built a Blue Pants as a kid. Wish I still had it. Might even learn to fly it.

A more modern view.

This is the Thor I built when I was slumming in Miami. Bob is right it is a fast cornering plane. I have recently gotten some plans and the article (Didn't have either the first time but thats another story entirely!) I will make another.
But be warned it will come back as one of them lectric planes. I am ready to duck now.  LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~ LL~
For those that don't know the last pic is me. Don't look a day over 53 now do I  LL~ LL~ x:
