I took those pictures.

The clear over jap tissue color scheme photos were taken at the 67 Los Alamitos Nats where Dick Mathis placed 2nd.  This is the color scheme that appears in the Flying Models construction article, Nov 68.

The photos showing the white color schem with red and dark blue trim is the same model when he flew it at the 68 Olathe Nats.

The pictures do not show the prop very well.  The magazine article shows what appears to be a Tornado 3-blade prop which most likely would be a 9-6 which also looks like what appears in the photograph here with the clear dope over jap tissue.  My pictures of the Olathe color scheme show more clearly what would have been the 3-blade 10-4 Tornado that I know he used at one time on this model.
