It's interesting that alot of the models have USA markings, also the wind! Slow flight's got to be tough.

If you do a little bit every day it will get done, or you can do it tomorrow.

http://www.fuelsoaked.me.uk/index.html        For more British Carrier try this site.   I started at day one for Zoe's exploits back into modelling.   I see she has some new stuff added.   Great reading.  Also some great pictures. H^^

Notice also the simple carrier deck and their rules are a bit different.jeh

I like this quote....

Most memorable quote of the day, "Carrier looks like simple event; but trying to flying a speed model, a powered kite, and doing precision spot landings on a raised platform, all with the same model, is bloody near impossible."

How's that?
Do you see the difference in rules or attitudes or something else?

Just a personal feeling as I watch the mentioned video.  I don't think the rules difference has anything to trip my wonderment. It is so evident to me that I see more fun in the faces of the Brits than I do at U.S. meets I attend, other than the fun one sees while atending the Brodak Carrier event. The video does not indicate National or regional championship, and the video was not taken at just one event as you can see from the differences in the decks used.  I have been the ED  for Carrier in two different "Nats" locations and have worked the Carrier team in 5 or 6 other locations, and the competition there is intense, something that the video does not show.

Of course the video is an interpretation of things. One picture lies more than   :o

I'm neither American nor British but I have a vague feeling that in UK people can be highly competitive in sports .... but soccer is the only one where winning or losing is a serious matter. It is almost like: if you win, you are sharing the victory with the other guys and girls; if you don't win, you are still sharing the victory with the guys and girls.
