That's the final arming and de-safetying of weapons just before launch.  Always risky business at best.  Even worse in bad weather on deck. 

In accordance with good practice, they're doing it with the weapons aimed downrange so the don't kit something if it goes wrong.  There were a couple of nasty incidents where this went foul and almost lost the ship.

It is always interesting to really get a handle on the business end of "cool" warbirds.  I'm thinkin I might want to position myself somewhere besides directly behind those rockets... %^@
I've started plenty...would be nice to finish something!!!
