Was it for carrier or stunt? If it was stunt, it may have been one of Don Hutchinson's. He has done quite a few very attractive profile warbirds, and he's a member here. Gerry Deneau published a .15 profile carrier Dauntless in Model Aviation in the late 80's, but I don't remember any for .36 profile carrier.

That is probably Don Hutchinson's SBD. Plans and short kits are currently available from Jim Snelson at Control Line Central. Don has campaigned his in Profile Stunt. I built the kit prototype. It is an excellent flier. Pictures of the one I built for Jim are posted in the CLC vendor forum thread "Don Hutchinson Warbirds". 8)

Did you contact Don Hutchinson directly? He's on here so you could PM him.

As I stated in my post...plans and short kits are available through CLC. They are currently marketing many of Don's warbird designs to include the SBD. I recommend you purchase the short kit. It will make it a lot easier to build. This is a great design but not necessarily for beginner modelers and the many lazar cut parts will definitely help.  For more details refer to the Control Line Central web site. 8)

You are right, my apologies. Other Don Hutch plans are listed however only the short kit is shown for the Dauntless. It would be worth a try to contact CLC and see if the plans can be purchased separately.  8)

Control Line Central has been out of commission - though not officially dead - for over a year.  The last word came in a thread dated March 11 in the Open Forum:

http://stunthanger.com/smf/index.php?topic=30738.0

that he hoped to have things up and running again soon.  Is there any news since then?

Duane Roach, Alameda Aer-O-Nuts, built a nice SBD profile.  I'll try to locate a source of plans, and let you know.

Duane says he built it from Larry Richard's plans -- no kit.

I just now traded emails with Larry Richards.  He says:
"I use to make this kit but I believe I sold off the rights to that kit to Walter Umland?  It is a great flying plane.  I also do not have any kits left of it.  I sold 23 kits so I know of about 4 guys that actually built it and the rest is 'Closet Collection".  You might try on Stuka Stunt or Stunt hangar for someone willing to sell their kit.   Larry"

It is clearly a carrier design -- not stunt.  Duane built his as per plan except to shorten the nose a bit.  It's his current favorite for flight qualities.

Here's some info about the Don Hutchinson's warbirds:
http://www.clstunt.com/htdocs/dc/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=103&topic_id=321721&mesg_id=321721&page=10

500 square inches is bigger than I would want for carrier.

As far as CLC goes - yes he is still in business albeit at a reduced capacity. They had a sales booth at VSC and hope to be taking and filling orders later this year. A note or call from Roger should get a reply. The .15 sized Dauntless profile carrier (shown) is worth a look also. Two sheets, much detail, very scale like. AMA plans service Plan #458, November 1984. I imagine it could be scaled up to a .35 sized fairly easily. 8)

If you are looking for a carrier plane, either the Larry Richards Dauntless or the .15 Dauntless shown above would be a better choice than Don Hutchinson's version. It is a sport/stunt plane, not a carrier design.  And Randy, let me know when the carrier sails into Port Alameda. I'll dust off some planes and join ya. 8)

Roger, Buddie...a responder mentioned that Walter may have plans for Larry Richard's SBD, not Don's. Jim Snelson at CLC is the sole distributor of Don Hutchinson's SBD plans unless a forum member wants to send you a copy. I don't have a stake in this but do know the parties involved and some back story. Again, Don's SBD is not a carrier model and the toughest one of the bunch to build (split flaps, dihedral, built up fuselage). Are you sure this is the one you want?  8)

Send Don Hutchinson a personal message. Click on "MEMBERS" above, search for him by name, and click on "send this member a personal message".
He may not ever look at the carrier section, so the only way to make sure he sees it is send the message directly to him.

I think he is referring to the built up profile construction of Don's SBD. And yes, the split flaps do work, dihedral and all. Quite well in fact.

Well, it's a built up profile fuselage so it does have several parts. After completing the inner structure it is sheeted with 1/16' balsa. The picture was taken during the build. It was a while ago and the pieces may just have been placed roughly in position. But so as not to add further confusion...it's gone. In the remaining picture, the tail wheel assembly is not yet in the correct postion.  8)
