To get the 100 points in Nostalgia Carrier, it only needs to be "old" as in before the cutoff date. It doesn't need to be either a carrier or navy design. Hence, a Ringmaster or Flite Streak is OK for the N-carrier bonus. Up until circa 1976 there was no need for a Profile Carrier plane to resemble anything.
Here's a (kit) Flite Streak set up for Nostalgia Carrier.
Strangely, some planes like the Cobra and Sabre were designed LONG before profile carrier existed.
