A lot of us used these props in the old days. I have seen, perhaps four times and maybe more, Class 2 models explode in flight when the prop threw a blade. We even had a prop throw the blade on the ground once, without the engine being at full throttle. So these props, which performed very well for their time, might not be a wise choice for flight (in Class 2 Carrier, anyway, they might be great in other applications) now when we are all extremely conscious of safety issues. I had Al Kelly making fiberglass props for me that were very similar to these and they performed well and were incredibly strong, but they were pretty expensive and a lot of work to prepare each prop. I now use APC 10-7 and 10-8 props. I have not heard of one of these throwing a blade, and they have very good performance.
