Or Maybe that one does not have enough wings. The only know carrier triplane the Mitsubishi 1MT1N . I actualy have built one, flys very well, surpising for a tripe.

The one Japanese plane that stands out in my memory are the Aichi VAL Torpedo Bombers that were replicated for the movie "Tora, Tora, Tora".
Big movie screens of the past, radial engine exhaust note, Kamikaze headbands with fur helmets and a scarf blowing behind the pilot. As a 10 yr. old watching it, I was enthralled! The P-40's being blown apart Wheeler Field were pretty good special effects even to this day.

Back in the day when carrier was king, Lee Ryktarsyk from Detroit built a Class 2 Aichi B7A Ryusei (Grace). Powered by a Webra 61 speed. The Grace was to replace the Myrt and Judy for the Japanese but they had lost all there carriers by the time the first of 105 Grace were ready for combat. Lee's Grace was the most beautiful model carrier ship I had ever seen and it was also a rocket. It was a gull wing torpedo/dive bomber. Only one other that came close was Terry Herron's Judy. Those were the days!

You'll find quite a bit if you google or yahoo Mitsubishi Ka.8 or 8 shi carrier aircraft. It is in several books, the main one is on Japanese R&D up to 1941, I don't have it handy right now but I'll find it and give you the name.  here is a good link
