I have posted 307 pictures of the (mostly) carrier event October 2nd here in Van Nuys California at the Sepulveda Dam Recreation Area or the Sepulveda Basin if you prefer.  There are some stunt pics mixed in (sorry).  Yeah, I know it's a lot of pictures.  I've learned that with anything as fast-moving as a model airplane I have to take 4 or 5 pics to get one good one.  So I have posted the good ones, and a few of the not-so-good just to tell the story.

Highlights:
Burt Brokaw and his Nelson Powered Messerschmitt
Eric Conley with his SCREAMIN' fast electric AND his gull-winged Corsair
Too much more to list...

To get to the album please visit the Valley Circle Burners website, scroll down to Photos, and click the link:

A HUGE THANK YOU goes out to:
Bill Barber (president of VCB and CD of the event),
Ron Duly (ran the carrier side of the event, answers all questions, offers plans and cores to newbies like me!),
Eric Conley (world-class pilot and patiently answered my questions about his electric setup),
Burt Brokaw (world-class pilot who let me stand within 10 feet of an actual NELSON engine),
Tony Naccarato (Too much good stuff to say about Tony, not enough room),
Robert Wright (purveyor of flyingsocal.com and also answered many newbie questions),
Robert's son who took off his headphones, set down his ipod, and picked up a stopwatch, WITHOUT COMPLAINING, every time a second timer was needed (I wish I could get my own three teens to act that way),
John Patwell (helped run things), Stephen Sobel (teaches people to fly on his Smoothie), and all the other un-named but equally friendly and important club members and pilots at the event.

Enjoy the Pictures!  Let me know if you like them...

Thanks for posting your pictures Paul. If I had known you were going to post the pictures you were taking I would have been asking you all about your camera, course then we wouldn't have had as many pictures to look at. It is rare to see so many pictures of a carrier event. Also thank you for the nice words about sharing information. I really like to answer questions at these events and en curage anyone with questions to ask them and if you don't think you got the right answer ask again. When you have been around these planes as long as I have some of the answers may be clear to me but not to the person that is asking the question. Thanks again, I'm enjoying going through all of your pictures.  Eric
