New carrier deck launched .....
« on: May 09, 2008, 06:56:33 PM »
..... in Australia. Just ran across this website:

http://clamf.aerosports.net.au/

They have constructed a new deck and held the first known carrier
competition in Australia in over 30 years. Excellent web-site with an
excellent Navy Carrier section and some good photo's.

Let's hope we can get some of them to join this group and keep us
updated. I've already put out an email to their club secretary and
hope to get some contact information. They also have some scans of
old magazine carrier models - give the site a look.

Hi Mike,

GREAT site!
One of the best looking "Perky" planes I seen.

"Mark Ellins gets in some serious practice for the World Champs with a Cox RTF model."
This is the same plane I received for Christmas when I was in the 3rd grade.
Madel was made by Wen-Mac.  MEMORIES!

Please post more pics of the carrier deck and airplanes.

Keep up the great work!

Tight lines!

Just to clear up any misconceptions - I get no credit for either of the websites mentioned above -- the Australian one I stumbled upon while surfing the internet - probably while I was supposed to be working. The "Northcoast Control Line Site" should be credited to the Cleveland Club - of which Wayne is a member, I believe.  Thanks to him for the link.  My own club site went down when I changed ISP's a year or so ago, and I never got the club site moved -- Frankly I was not very satisfied with it, and had no time to keep it up to date or for that matter, not much talent at it either.  So my hat is off to anyone who is able to get a website up and running and keep it going - and to those who have such a person in your club, be sure and count your blessings and give him a little thank you now and then.  (Thanks, Sparky ... )  Oh, and be sure and leave your compliments on the websites in question - I have no way of knowing if anyone else from those sites actually visits us here.
