Moderator?
« on: September 27, 2012, 04:02:44 PM »
Hi All,

The Moderator of this board is "flybywire" (Tim Ehlen).  I have checked and he has not been active since November 26, 2006.  Does anyone know if Tim is out there and involved in Carrier?

If not, we may need to get another Moderator.

HI Eric,

Well, all the boards have a Moderator and as an Admin I needed to check out why Tim has not been active.  I know that basically there have been no problems here but you never know.

Do you know if Tim is still active in Carrier?

This is the first time that I have seen a name for flybywire. I've been on this site for some time now and in my early attempts to get a hold of flybywire I have never gotten a response, that's why I was wondering why we needed one now. We have never had one.  Eric

Two years ago I tossed my hat in the ring as a volunteer Moderator. Nothing happened other than to hear I didn't exist on this site.  Sure messed me up for a day or two.  I still think we need such a live person.  I think I'm still alive, but need to know how to do the job.

If you do a little bit every day it will get done, or you can do it tomorrow.

Just be moderate.

But seriously, you get to delete stuff & lock out threads if, in your expert opinion, it's not moderate enough.

In all of my time here I've never seen any thread that needed to be deleted. I've seen a few that I didn't agree with for one reason or another but even those were interesting and food for thought. What is "moderate" except in the eyes of the beholder. I'm for leaving well enough alone.  Eric

I say put Joe Just..Justincase we need one. Other guy has never been heard from, lets get a live wire, instead of flybywire ??  Joe is active and most know who he is. Dump the dead weight and get a live person to fill position. We want Joe, we want Joe Adios flyby !!   LL~

"and to conclude my position as your rep, er leader, er Moderator..once the position is mine I will see that everyone has a NIB 5.8, a rule change to allow .78's in Class 1, a rotating Nats (rotating every 4 years to include my personal flying site) inclusion of British rules in our rule book, and last but not least, recognition of the "working girl" y1

The old DOC is for Joe also.   But, I don't like the British rules of the deck being over a foot off the ground.  Might help us old timers in getting engines started and launching, but think of coming in too low.  I do like the idea of muffler pressure on box stock RC engines.
