Talking with my our friend...Howard Lynn Doody yesterday...brought back such memories...especially at one SAN POINT NAS where the late and really great DOC BROOKS...flew his beautiful Gull wing beauty onto the deck of this make-shift carrier deck that I am pretty certain..
this will never in my life time...ever be repeated again. LL~
Here is a shot that I took with my tele on my old Minolta SR-2
(I have about a half doz. slides of this...that I still can't locate, especially the landing shots..with those folks on the deck...scattering and jumping out of the way to get out of Doc's successful (sorta) landing. H^^

I saw these in the magazine somewhere back in the day. I thought that there was an RC carrier event when I was a youngster as it seemed perfectly reasonable to me to have one.

After gluing the pieces of the stab back together...THE CONTROLS ARE BINDING SOMEWHERE..maybe a fuselage former just out of sight of the aft fuselage section is busted and hangin up the pushrod?  Also the stab alignment is not too precise....
I now going to cut into the bottom aft bottom block and take a further look see.
So far this repair crapp sucks! NOTHING BUSTS MY BUTTSKI'S MORE THAN CRASH REPAIRS!!!
Also has a couple of busted elevator hinges to deal with...which might be part of my binding problemo...

MAN Aug. 1965 also shows several photos of this . One phot shows Doc Getting a set of honorary Navy wings for his magnificent carrier flying achievements from Cdr.James Korbein.
