ABQ Contest, Carrier
« on: August 22, 2011, 07:58:01 PM »
No pictures or anything, just a story...
One of my travelling companions has a line box just like mine, a Plano brand fishing tackle box. His contains mostly line sets, mine has glow plugs, chicken stick, handle and lines, props, and landing gear, everything I need to fly my aging MO-1 CII. Loading the car for the trip, guess which box didn't get packed?

In ABQ, Bill Bischoff loaned me a handle and line set, I thought I was ready to go, but then realised no landing gear. To the rescue came Jim Snelson on his dazzling Dodge Ram. He  took me to his shop, bent a landing gear and found some wheels. We were gone about thirty minutes. My plane once again flew in Class II, the fourth time in as many years.

Bill and Jim's actions aren't unusual, rather they are typical, we've got a whole lot of nice folks in our hobby. :) dg
