Vector Wing Tips Help

The Vector kit came with 12 1/4 inch pieces and 6 1/8 inch pieces.

Step 29.
To build the wing tips, glue three pieces of 1/4" wing tip blocks together with one piece of 1/8" block.
Make two sets that are each 7/8" thick. Put two blocks together with a 1/8" wing tip center between them, then spot glue the blocks to the end for the wing, making sure not to glue the 1/8' wing tip center to the blocks.

So I think I may understand but wanted to ask to be sure.

I glue 2 of the 1/4" pieces together, then just lay 2 1/8" pieces but don't glue it, then 2 more 1/4" pieces???
Makes one tip?

Paul, i was confused at first on this also. I am trying to remember but it has been a month or so and my memory is slipping. I believe you glue three 1/4 inch pieces together then add one 1/8 inch piece to each , then put one 1/8 inch piece in the middle. Look at the picture to the top very left above the wing on the plans, that is the way to build them. It ends up being one 1/8 piece on the top, then three 1/4 pieces , then one 1/8 piece in the middle, then three 1/4 pieces again and one 1/8 piece on the bottom. I hope this makes sense.   Ray

here goes ......

you glue 3 of the 1/4 together and one of the 1/8 (the 1/8th should be on the top & bottom of each tip)

repeat so you have two halves of the tip.

you then tack glue the 1/8 in the middle of the two halves so from the bottom to the top goes

1/4
1/4
1/8 tacked
1/4
1/4
1/4
1/8

once you have shaped the tips (tack glues to the wing)  - you can then pop the tack glue and hollow the "halves out"

when hollowed - glue them all together but on the INBOARD side only - leave a cutout int he 1/8th centre piece  for the leadouts to go out the tip

the easiest to sand ......I use balsa cement (C23) I think it is the same as your guys ambroid
