Two Part auto clear over dope
« on: May 03, 2006, 09:33:39 PM »
If a two part clear automotive type top coat( like Robert likes to use) is put over a dope paint job will this stop the never ending shrinkage of the classic dope finish?

Just a note. It's a really good idea to allow the dope to dry as long as you possible can before shooting the catalyzed polyurethane clearcoat. Baking it, if you have the facilities, isn't a bad idea or just sit it in the car in the sun isn't a bad trick. Just get it to gas off as much as you can, then shoot the clear.
