I tried to mount my 51 on the tutor and when drilling out the mounts, I did it a little to close to the edge and split the mount

Any suggestions? Can i go ahead and just mount the engine anyway? and also which is better for the 51 mounts? 4-40's or 6-32's?(i was drilling out the mount to put in 6-32nd blind nuts)

6-32's are a bit of overkill with the 51 on the Tutur II. The fuselage will fail before 4-40's do. Also some versions of the G51 have the casting on the case that won't clear the head on 6-32 bolts. I used 4-40's on mine and haven't had a problem. Depending on how bad the holes broke thru, I'd probably just epoxy a layer of 1/32 ply across the open side of the mounts.

Might try some wooden dowels in the hole(s) that split. I have done this and glued them in with Aliphetic resin (Titebond) and they worked well...

Hardwood dowels where the bolts go thru are a good idea anyway--most of the ARF's have very soft engine mount wood.

Fill the odd bit , with ayrldite .and leave it for a week .
