Polyspan Lite
« on: March 06, 2007, 12:31:35 PM »
In the "F/F Sport" column in the January, 2007, issue of Flying Models it was mentioned that  light weight version of Polyspan - - about 15 grams/sq. meter - - was available from a free flight supplier, Larry Davidson, in Moneta, VA.

I did some checking, and, indeed, it is available in 39 X 72 sheets at $13.00/sheet.  Larry does not have a website, but if you email him at samchamp@suddenlink.net he will send you a list of the interesting variety of products, including regular and light weight Polyspan, that he sells.  In the alternative, you can go to a website maintained by Scott Cannon (Louisiana) - - http://www.modelflight.com - - on which he lists the products available from Larry Davidson.

Polyspan Lite is about half the weight of regular Polyspan and, given the great strength of regular Polyspan, it seems that the light weight variety might be just the thing for 40-sized and smaller stunt planes.

Has anyone seen or used this material?  Any preliminary thoughts about it?
