This probably should go into product review but it will be a complete build so I'll do it here.
First off with the Tbolt done I needed something to keep me busy until my other project materials get here. So I am starting a new .40 size plane. I had acquired a set of ribs from Randy Smith. Lazier cut and very light however I usually build in the lost foam system. I also received a wing jig from Control Line Central. So yesterday I spent the morning getting the jig ready. I built a 48" X 24" X 3/4 Masonite covered particle board building jig. The thing that holds it straight is on the underside I have 1 1/2 x 1 1/2 angle stock bolted to the bottom.
After fiddle-farting around I set the jig bars in, I have the mounted temporally mounted with drywall screws but at a later date I will use 1/4-20 Allen's.
Anyway popped the ribs out and cut the spars out of 1/4 balsa the leading edge was cut from 3/8. Lined it all up and glued it. Straight as an arrow (so far). The jig building and wing as you see it here took about 5 hrs. of coarse there was some computer time looking at this site. Any way I should have this plane framed in a week or so. I'll keep you posted.
