My Wang is Worped
« on: April 09, 2007, 05:22:09 PM »
I just finished the wing construction for my new "Fancy Pants".  The leading edge is as straight as an arrow but the trailing edge has a 1/4 inch droop at each end.  What is the best technique for removing the warp?

David;

  Had no choice here with a title like that you should get a lot of answers. I have a cloths steamer that is small and is very user friendly. I use it for this type of problem. They are available at most discount outlets. I just hit the warped spot and straighten it with my hand.

After I read the title, I was going to suggest painting a "smiley face" on it! But after reading the details... use steam per Bill.

 "My Wang is Worped". That's TOO funny! LL~ LL~ LL~

Anyway, steam works for warps. Or you can just spray water on it and jig it up straight, then let it dry for a few days.

hi clint, sounds like good advice.  Now I'm not sure whether to steam it or just spray water on it.

David;

  May not make any difference, but it depends on if you have painted yet or not? Water will work fine but it has a tendency to stain wood, thats why I prefer steam. But then like has been said either will work.

Yes, water will stain the wood, so don't do it if it's already painted. But if it's not, it's easier to just mist water on it than to steam it.
