I have use low and high tack friskit in the past--don't use high tack, too tacky!  The low tack is good but expensive.  I have found a product at Office Depot that has work well for me.  It is called Clear Cover.  Not really shelf paper, they advertise it as a book covering, document covering, etc.  I have used it with dopes and works really well.  And it is only $1.99 for 13.5" x 5 '. This product cuts very well with a number 11 exacto knife.   Sometimes you will get a bit of pull-away-shrink after the first coat of color if your surface is not really smooth and providing good adhesion.  I usually shoot two light coats of color and then quickly remove the mask.  That's my take, your mileage may vary........

Well yes, Friskit paper is expensive as I have just found out, OUCH !

However it is 24" x 4 yards and will fit nicely into my HP plotter. I'll draw out the stencile in Design cad, plot it and cut it out by hand. Hopefully it will go OK.

However next time I'll go to Office Depot and  try some clear cover.
