Leadout guide eyelet material

Guys,
I am getting ready to makeup the leadout ends on my El Diablo and have the eyelet type adjustable line positioner. A friend gave me some nylon eyelets which I have never used before. Doing a search on this board one comment indicated that brass eyelets would last over 2000 flights. I am leaving the leadouts long enough to allow clipping and redoing the eyelets but was wondering if anyone has used nylon or other eyelet material and what seems the better choice?

One good material is the spray tube from a WD-40 can.

One of the top guys uses nylon 4-40 screws with holes drilled through the middle.  I can't remember who.  They stay in better than relying on a friction fit.

I use the yellow inside tubing from the golden rod type control rods.  So far as I can see, it will last indefinately and will not wear the leadouts. It is the same stuff that comes in the Perfect leadout packages.

Doug Moon in his thread "Building Another One" has a couple of pictures of this with a description of how it works.  Its on page two around the middle of the page.   H^^

I use aluminum Pop rivets for eyelets. You just drive the pin out of the rivet and ream the end out. Leadout wire is harder than aluminum so should not cause a wear problem (for the leadout wire but could I suppose, eventually wear the eyelets).

I have been using pop rivet material ever since I saw the post on SSW about building wingtips and adjustable leadouts.  So far so good.
