Here is the spice go-round from Bed-Bath and Beyond, modified to be a tool and stuff holder.  A round cut from some EPP foam and double stick foam tape to hold it down, and there you are!
Think S.M.A.L.L. y'all and, it's all good, CL, FF and RC!

Excellent tip, Larry!

I use blocks of foam to hold all types of tools.  It helps with scalpels in particular, the points/blade is never sticking up! LL~ LL~  My turn table got lost under "stuff" on one of my benches. ;D

I too have one of those turntable tool storage thingys.  It is no on the metal desk.  It was found under a bunch of stuff in a box.  Nothing like trying to organize a shop.   H^^
