Looks like an FAI model from the Japanese team in the 1970's. That's my guess. Pretty awesome construction....

 One of the few models I've ever seen with a higher piece count than a typical Randy Powell model, wow!

In my childhood, at the late '60s was this building method in fashion, by some top pilots.
That time came in the very strong artifical silks.
And when the athlete destroyed his model by accident, the covering material did not ripped or damaged at all.
Going home, the wrecks could be shaken, just like the popcorn in the bag...
We - as beginner boys- had not enough courage to guffaw loudly, but I decided for all my life to avoid myself of this building method...

Obviously a very pretty airplane when it was covered, and while some people see that level of building as par-excellence, the structural engineer in me shudders.
