ROBERT

Thank You. Do use use the same method for the wing and stab Fillets? That is  epoxilite and micro balloons? The helpful hints just gave your method for the canopy.

Thanks

Jack, i use Aero Poxy Lite, it is very lite, strong and very easy to sand, but!!!!!!!!!!!!! you must use a gram scale and weigh it, to get the correct amts. Ron.  AP^

Sparky,

So does this mean you're mixing micro balloons into your Epoxolite sometimes?
I've always shyed away from Epoxolite because when I used it years ago, I remember it being hard as a rock after curing, and very difficult to sand. Maybe micro balloons is the secret?

Epoxolite does dry hard, but is easy to wet sand. I use 320 wet and it smoothes out just fine.

Maybe the trick is to get it smooth when you put it on. Some guys dip their fingers in alcohol, but I prefer water. Alcohol is a thinner for epoxy and I don't want to thin or slow down the set time. Keep dipping and smoothing and the Epoxolite fillets will be almost ready for finish when they dry.

I found Aeropoxy to be too finicky for my use. It must be weighed accurately with a gram scale and that's too much trouble. You can eyeball the portions for Epoxolite and it cures much faster.

I mix the Epoxolite 50-50 by weight. Then I add about 50% by volume of micro balloons. Be careful as the micro balloons will cause it to kick off FAST!! So only mix what you can work in 10 minutes.
