This topic is to pass on info how to extend the shelf life of Cyanoacrylate Adhesives (CA).
My building uses ambriod glue (SIG-Ment), yellow carpenters glue, and epoxy glues. Very seldom is CA used in my building. It primary use is to fuel proof balsa or harden balsa as a seating surface. Therefore, CA goes a long way in my building effort.
I opened my present 2 oz CA bottle on June 11, 1987. The CA is Hobby Lobby's Z-10 Super Fast Formula. The CA is still good and instantly sets up on applying it to balsa. After each use, the nozzle is carefully opened with a "T" pin and the liquid is allowed to drain back into the container. Then the CA is put back into the icebox or freezer. It remains there until the CA is needed for the next project use. One cannot complain about a 20 year shelf life for CA.
