Building pins with rubber stops
« on: June 23, 2014, 07:36:12 AM »
I just started my first build in, well, decades. Started on a Trophy Trainer this weekend!

Not having a wing jig, I'm looking for the rubber/plastic stops we used to get that went on pins to clamp a part down to the building board withouty poking a hole in the balsa. Does anyone remember these and where I might find them? I've searched this forum and several model sites but have yet to find them or a good alternative.
Best Regards,
Bill

Now those are cool... just when I think I've seen all the neat tools and stuff, I have to add another to the shopping list.
Thanks for the link David.

I wasn't sure they were still around because I couldn't find them anywhere. They were the cat's meow 40 years ago putting together any balsa model. Not only for holding parts down to a plan but leading edge sheeting, cap strips, curves cowls and decks before the days of superglue.

Bill

Come over and I'll loan you a wing jig and tons of Tee pins. H^^

I might have to take you up on that, Ty! Going to Ft. Worth for a couple days. I'll holler at ya when I get back.
Best Regards,
Bill
