OK, I guess I shouldn't just leave it at that. Acrylic lacquers are slightly fuel resistant (as Howard Rush). Automotive enamels are generally very heavy and also not so fuel resistant. Urethane base coats not only aren't fuel resistant, but will come off with alcohol (that's why they are base coats)

Automotive catalyzed polyurethane is probably the most fuel resistant paint there is next to epoxy. It can stand up to straight nitro pretty well.
