Hello Guys
By forum member Warbird`s request I`m posting what I did to the nose of my arf Nobler. I replaced the motor mounts with new mounts and made a 5 ply firewall then I built a cowling using the desing on the green box nobler plan that I had from building a few. Here are the pics.

Juan - Nice work. Pardon my ignorance, but you show in pic 134a the cowl with a couple of what appears to be threaded inserts - what are you using these for? Ed

Hello Ed
What you see in pic 1304a are 2-56 aluminum inserts to hold the cowl in place using the front plywood ring I recessed the heads of the 2-56 screws into the plywood. Here is another shot.

Thanks Juan - Super neat. I am doing an ARF Nobler now, & going thru some of the same things - lots of sanding, changed out the controls, etc. Did you use the original landing gear, or go to something else? Ed

Hello Ed
I made a new landing gear out of aluminum 7075 T6. I installed a U shaped bulkhead to ad support in front of the plywood gear mount to reinforce the area then I took a piece of aluminum and made a small anvil to bend the aluminum. Using a press and a plastic head hammer I bent the aluminum to the shape I wanted. Here are some pics. The pictures that show a crutch are from a Jetco Dolphin I`m building that I`m giving the same treatment for aluminum gear.
