Now this is going against the grain, but I have built countless wings without a jig. The Goldberg kits, Sterling and some scratch built. It takes masking tape, rubber bands and pins. Sometimes the old wooden spring type clothes pin. Also some patience. The bigger stunters I have a CLC jig. I have used Tom Morris' jig also. But it seems with the Ringmaster series with the exception of the Imperial I can build a straight wing in my hands. That is where the tape, rubber bands and pins come into play. I use a little CA for preliminary glueing with Elmers white glue for final glue joints. So far no failures, unless I make a verticle landing and my latest and lightest Ringmaster survived that. If you have one of the later laser cut kits they usually have tabs on the ribs so you can build on a flat surface. I mark the leading and trailing edges as well as the spar where the ribs go. Brodak kits have a good manual for building their kit.
Anyway I have several S-1 Ringmasters in which one was made using an original kit and the lightest one is an RSM kit. The Stuntin Ringmaster is an S-1 with top and bottom spars. Need to get an S-1A version to finish the S-1 series. By the way have the Super Ringmaster that is of the original construction. Did I mention I have a Ringmaster twin with 2 LA 25's.
